Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Version 2.0.2 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Some have been way too hard on this game lol this game is awesome, I have played the drawers off it lol Happy to see Game Freak is still perfecting it!

I'm surprised they fixed that glitch now instead of waiting for the next DLC. Guessing that isn't coming until late November or early December if they're addressing it now.

Have they fixed this game yet in terms of framerate drops, and overall performance? I went back to focus on Sword, and Shield because those run way better, and are more enjoyable, and straight to the point.

I just wish the next games, most likely Black and White remakes, get at least an extra year of development. It's just been getting worse and worse on the quality front and it's clearly because of the games being increasingly horrendously rushed, from my own experience with them anyway. We don't need new entries this fast. You can afford to put some time and, dare I say, polish (gasp) into your games when you're literally the biggest entertainment franchise on Earth.

Hope they fixed the game destroying bug that only affected a few saves... All I heard of was the glitch is able to ruin a save like it was never there, but no one can find out why it exists. 👾

Crappy performance aside, these were fantastic games and glad to see tpc put water in this garbage fire a few drops at a time!

Hopefully the bugs crashing the final fight and worse performance since 2.0.1 have been fixed but since they're not directly listed it feels like they might not have...

If this game was xbox exclusive, everyone would be making fun of how bad this game is.

But, as it's not a game exclusive to another console, it's still possible to read some kind words for it.

@Vil I'd happily wait 6 years if the next Pokémon game needs it to be as awesome as Tears of the Kindgom is. I just keep playing Arceus since I love it's gameplay and it has a fairly well frame paced 30fps.

I'm hoping the next game ditches the open world design, it's clear Gamefreak aren't cut out for it. Unless they give the series to monolith soft to do which I don't see happening.

Gamefreak should just go back to the Sword/Shield formula and have linear routes with some more open areas to explore here and there.

@UltimateOtaku91 Yeah, (almost) everyone wanted Pokémon to be an open world game. But the series really doesn't fit the open world style. And that is even so if you take away the bugs. The game should have open area's (like Legends Arceus and Sword & Shield) but also linear routes between towns. Maybe make the area's available after finishing the game's story.

And even Scarlet & Violet basically still are linear games. Since the Pokémon levels don't scale.

So the game is perfect now? Although it doesn't say they fixed performance etc. I assume they secretly have since that's what the game desperately needs? Might have to buy it again since the games completely fixed now...

@Vil The time between the release of the original versions and remakes seems to increase with each gen. BD/SP released 15 years after their DS originals, so I'm guessing Black and White remakes will be releasing 2026 at the earliest. There's no way they would dedicate that much time to one set of games sadly.

@PersonaTexas Nope! It still runs like crap and the DLC has even worse frame drops.

@Lizuka Indigo Disk is a download in the physical game + DLC bundle (Teal Mask is on the cart) so you know for certain it's releasing after November 3rd. MK8 Deluxe has a similar situation (physical game + DLC bundle has wave 6 as a download) so comparing the wave 6 release date to the physical release date of October 6th may give a better idea of when Indigo Disk is releasing.

@Joriss depends on your relationship with the series. Is it good? Not really, but I enjoyed it enough.

Like a bad action movie - it's not supposed to be good, but can still be entertaining.

Stop excusing and buying this scrap game, they are making millions of dollars with no efforts, and you frankly believe that the next game Will be in better playing state ? The answer is no, why work hard and release a good game when all you have to do is release a bad game with the Pokémon stamp on it , stupid consumer Will buy it anyway, and money will flow.

@LanceOSX the problems bother me on principle more than anything else. the game is still fun in many ways. but I'm just really frustrated that the most profitable creative IP in the world has such little effort and resource put into its core.

Okay but when are they going to fix the base game that came out almost a year ago and looks like a ps2 game with lower frame rates and trees from Majora's mask?

@Chocobo_Shepherd I was gifted the game from a friend who got the two pack last Christmas, and honestly, yeah. The game is fun, which just makes it an even bigger shame that it runs so poorly. You can see what they were trying to do, and when it works, especially using co-op with a friend, it is a blast to goof off with each other. Really inexcusable for the performance, but I think they had the right ideas gameplay wise.

@munstahunta So what? People should ask YOU first before they spend their own money on whatever they want? Lol.

@Arawn93 ask me no , but before the game released a ton of reviews were online stating that this game had severe problems and glitches. So before blindly buying a game that is not worth your money do some verification. But if you want broken games it's your problem, it's just that by doing this you justify them to continue releasing broken games.

The games are great, the DLC was a lot of fun and a great addition onto the base game. For anyone sitting on the fence about these ones: take the plunge. The Pokemon games haven't been this exciting since Red and Blue and I can't wait for the next part of the DLC and the franchise's future. Open world looks VERY good on the series, and they have prioritized what is actually important in these games: they've made them fun.

I know people expect every update to a performance patch but it shouldn't, they need to spread it out or more performance issues will arise. That being said I'm glad to see them updating the game to be less buggy. I've been having fun just not with the occasional frame dips.

@Joriss Was worth playing on day 1. To a true Pokemon fan this game was a dream come true

I've always enjoyed the pokemon games since I was little and had my Gameboy advanced. First game was Yellow. My only grievance with Scarlet and Violet was the glitches and the lack of voice acting. It wouldn't be hard to add it and it would be a nice upgrade to see for the games.

If anybody was experiencing horrible lag (like me) when the dlc launched this patch fixed it. Now its back to the regular playable lag.

@Joriss Definitely worth playing. It's honestly an amazing experience running through a seamless environment filled with Pokemon at every turn. Plus, the post game is in fact challenging and rewarding given your team isn't 20 levels over the benchmark.

Even with the base storyline, at first it seems disjointed and mundane, but over time you realize that they're tying these disparate characters together to culminate in the one of the most rewarding storyline payoffs of the whole franchise.

Also the music is seriously stellar. SW/SH's music was still good, but Scarlet/Violet's songs are way better.

Is the game playable yet?

@Jeronan Wow, what a let down. Let me tell ya though. Will be the last Pokemon games that I buy on launch. Never again will I just buy a Pokemon game on launch. I learned my lesson, plus if you think about it, the best Pokemon games have already been made. No real point in rushing to buy the next one.

@PersonaTexas They put very little effort in the DLC too.

The area is boring and the quest is finished super quickly. I was done within an hour and there is nothing else to do. Other than a photographer who gives you something if you catch 150 different Pokemon in that area or something, which I am not going to bother with.

Compared to the two DLC in Sword/Shield.....this is a complete farce! It's like Gamefreak isn't even trying anymore and already moved on to development of the next mainline game.
